| Joana 38 y., Want men Single seniors wants casual fucking dating Apex All I'm really looking for is a liberal with excellent grammar I promise I'm not the kind of guy you'd find on . Promise. The Good News Is finding someone with a good education something that is important to you? I value education above most things. Don't get me wrong. We shouldn't value others based on their education. There is more to life. But I worked to make sure that I achieved a good education. I earned a B.S. but in liberal arts so I got the best of both worlds. I took many more than enough classes for two degrees. I attended schools. I took enough classes in another field over my academic career to earn a degree in that field as well. I made 's List 15 times. I have a vast library. Mostly I read scholarly texts. I enjoy writing syllabi. Currently I have been pushing two of my syllabi online everywhere (one on feminist theory and another on African American women writers). Academics is something that I'm passionate about. I regularly read academic journals and have over 12 GBs of academic articles on my computer. Is finding someone with progressive values something that is important to you? I am a far left progressive liberal. Social justice and human rights are very important to me. I do have some experience with activism. A while ago I co-founded a small human rights advocacy organization that did more than just raise awareness. We also built libraries for refugee organizations across Asia. Our objective was to empower through education and help others help themselves. I believe that for those of us who have to opportunity to contribute to society is our responsibility to contribute, each in their own unique way. In my experience just a little effort can make a big difference in the lives of others. The Bad News I have a mental illness. Those of us with this condition are mostly misunderstood. The media perpetuates stigma and stereotypes that are not based in reality at all. I have been living with this condition for years. It is not something that is apparent. If I didn't tell you would never know. I live a normal life and for the most part tend to forget that I have the condition. At the moment I am living with family. Most of my life I have been independent. I moved in with family when I moved back to Charleston. I am originally from here but for a year and a half I was living just outside of DC. I have been staying with family until I finished . Now that I am done with (I graduated last month) I have new opportunities available to me and am looking forward to starting a new career and getting a place of my own very soon. What am I looking for? Really I am just looking for someone who can value me for me. Someone who can look past the stigma and appreciate what I have accomplished and what I have to offer. It takes time to get to know someone new. The way I understand the proper way of meeting someone online is that there should first be a conversation via before meeting in a public place and even then trust is not yet earned. It takes time. I am not necessarily looking for someone with a college degree but I do have a preference for bibliophiles. My ex didn't go to until after we were married but she was more well-read than many of the people I went to with. I have more in common with those who have an interest in the arts; particularly books and music. I am a 35 y/o white male. I am very open when it comes to age. Before my ex I only dated older women but she changed my perspective. She was six years younger than I and the difference in age was never an issue. My preference is 28-38 but again I am very open. Race is also not an issue. Also: I'm this post. It occurred to me that I should write a little more about myself. I don't know if average people read but it is my understanding that just about everyone reads the personals once in a while. It makes sense that I should relate as much about myself in order to encourage the response from just the right person. I have a spiritual side as well. The past year or so I have been considering converting to Judaism. I have had many meaningful spiritual experiences. The is very disturbing. I am a feminist. The things that happen to women in the is beyond deplorable. That being said, I love culture. Of course there are many different cultures. I have a siddur that I read from time to time. I probably won't be doing an actual conversion with a rabbi anytime soon. I am currently taking an MOOC on mysticism and am fascinated by the subject. I look forward to hearing from you. |
